Forest Green Rovers delivered a commanding attacking performance at The New Lawn, securing a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Gateshead. After dominating much of the opening period without finding a breakthrough, the hosts finally took the lead shortly before half-time before adding three more goals after the interval to complete an emphatic win.
Forest Green began on the front foot and created the better of the early opportunities. Ricardo Rees tested Gateshead goalkeeper Peter Jameson from the left before Kyle Kelly twice threatened from the right, with Jameson producing an excellent save to tip one curling effort away. Forest Green continued to manage the game comfortably as the second half progressed, making further substitutions while maintaining their defensive organisation. Gateshead struggled to generate a sustained response, with the home side looking increasingly assured of a second consecutive league victory.
The scoring was completed in the third minute of stoppage time. Forest Green worked the ball into the area and substitute Oliver Ewing found the net for his first goal for the club, with Gabriel Kircough credited with the assist, completing a convincing 4-0 victory.

After Saturday’s fixtures, they sit seventh in the English National League with 12 points from seven matches, having recorded four wins and three defeats.
Gateshead, meanwhile, remain in a difficult position. They sit 23rd with four points from seven games and are now without a win in five league matches. For Forest Green, the performance represents another encouraging step after a difficult run of three consecutive defeats, while Gateshead will need to find a response quickly as they look to move away from the foot of the table.
