Worthing 5-0 Solihull Moors

Cory Adjetey-Brew scored twice and Jordan Young provided three first-half assists as Worthing thrashed Solihull Moors 5-0 at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium, extending their unbeaten National League run to nine matches.

Despite the eventual scoreline, Solihull created the better early opportunities. Taylor Seymour was called upon to deny Jacob Wakeling before Joe Sbarra sent an effort wide from inside the penalty area. Worthing gradually found openings of their own and took the lead in the 29th minute through Adjetey-Brew.

Young created the opener with a cross from the right, which the Queens Park Rangers loanee controlled before turning and driving a shot with his weaker foot into the top corner beyond Max Metcalfe. Although primarily a defender, Adjetey-Brew showed an impressive finishing touch to put the hosts ahead.

Worthing doubled their advantage four minutes later after Solihull surrendered possession in their own half. Young collected the loose ball and found Razzaq Coleman De-Graft, who cut inside onto his left foot before curling a finish into the far corner for his sixth league goal of the campaign.

Charley Kendall then missed an opportunity from close range before Ricky Aguiar went close with a long-range effort that Metcalfe pushed against the post. Aguiar made no mistake in the 40th minute, meeting Young’s corner on the edge of the penalty area and driving a low shot through a crowd of players to complete the winger’s hat-trick of assists and give Worthing a 3-0 half-time lead.

Solihull made three changes at the interval, introducing goalkeeper Nathan Ford, Marvin Johnson and Ben Wodskou. The visitors had opportunities to reduce the deficit after the restart, but Seymour saved attempts from Wodskou as Chris Millington’s side searched for a way back into the contest.

Worthing captain Joel Colbran headed wide from a Charlie Waller delivery before Adam Hinshelwood introduced Dominic Hutchinson, Dominic Johnson-Fisher and Sam Packham midway through the second half. Hutchinson, returning from international duty with Turks and Caicos Islands, quickly played a part in Worthing’s fourth goal.

The substitute received the ball from Coleman De-Graft and struck towards goal from the edge of the penalty area. Ford could only parry the effort into the path of Adjetey-Brew, who reacted quickest to finish the rebound in the 70th minute and complete his brace.

Coleman De-Graft and Joe Cook both had further opportunities before Hutchinson completed the scoring three minutes into stoppage time. The forward beat several Solihull defenders during an individual run before poking his finish through Ford’s legs to mark his return to the Worthing side with a goal.

The victory extended Worthing’s unbeaten league sequence to nine matches and their run in all competitions to ten. Hinshelwood’s side remained fifth in the National League with 24 points from 13 games, while Solihull suffered their third successive league defeat and remained 23rd with seven points.

Right then, let’s have a butchers at this Worthing vs. Solihull Moors game. And blimey, Worthing absolutely battered them, didn’t they? A resounding 5-0 victory, which is just the ticket. The bookies had Worthing as strong favourites at 1.67, and fair play, they delivered. TopB1ns Edge was bang on the money with “Worthing to win,” so that’s a solid start.

Now, where things get a bit interesting is the Both Teams To Score market. Bookies had ‘Yes’ as the favourite at 1.44, but TopB1ns Edge went against the grain and predicted ‘Yes’. That, my friends, was a swing and a miss, as Solihull couldn’t even muster a consolation goal. So, a slight teething issue there for the Edge, but no harm done on that front as we weren’t relying on it.

The Over/Under goals were a bit of a mixed bag for TopB1ns Edge. It correctly called Over 0.5, 1.5, and 2.5 goals, which was pretty obvious given the scoreline. However, it called Under on 3.5 and 4.5, which were both smashed out of the park by Worthing’s five goals. Still, the main bet, the 1X2, was spot on, and that’s what we’re here for. A good result overall, with the Edge showing promise.
