Kidderminster Harriers 1-2 Worthing

Taylor Seymour produced a series of important saves as Worthing came from behind to beat Kidderminster Harriers 2-1 at Aggborough, with Cory Adjetey-Brew scoring the winner four minutes after substitute Dominic Johnson-Fisher’s introduction.

Kidderminster created the better first-half opportunities. David Davis had an early shot blocked before Worthing’s Charley Kendall turned inside the area and forced Jack Wint into a save. The hosts then came close when Lewis Walker capitalised on a mistake by Seymour, but Jayden Moore cleared his effort off the line with the goalkeeper beaten.

Ben Crompton was also denied as he stretched to meet a chance inside the area, while Walker shot over on the turn and Callum Stewart dragged an angled effort wide. Worthing were struggling to contain the hosts’ chances, but Seymour and the defenders in front of him kept the game goalless until the 43rd minute.

Kidderminster finally broke through when a free-kick caused problems in the Worthing penalty area. The ball was knocked down amid a scramble and Crompton reacted quickest to stab it home from close range. Zak Brown almost doubled the advantage before half-time, racing through on goal only for Seymour to save his effort.

Worthing manager Adam Hinshelwood introduced Harvey Griffiths for the injured Jack Wadham at the interval, but Kidderminster had another excellent opportunity two minutes after the restart when Walker crossed for Stewart, whose first-time effort went narrowly wide.

The visitors equalised in the 58th minute through Razzaq Coleman De-Graft. Joel Colbran picked him out with a throw-in and the winger turned into space before driving a shot through a defender’s legs. Wint got both hands to the ball but could not prevent it crossing the line, giving Coleman De-Graft his seventh league goal of the season.

Kidderminster responded with further chances, but Seymour saved from Stewart before denying Walker at point-blank range after the forward found himself with the ball inside the area. Those stops proved particularly important when Worthing took the lead in the 68th minute.

Johnson-Fisher, who had replaced Kendall four minutes earlier, beat Richard Faakye down the right and delivered a low cross for Adjetey-Brew. The 18-year-old met it with a powerful first-time finish into the top corner for his third goal in two league matches, completing Worthing’s turnaround.

Seymour was called upon again as Kidderminster searched for an equaliser, producing another excellent save from Walker before turning away a further Stewart effort. Johnson-Fisher almost added a third for Worthing when his shot from a tight angle struck the post, while Walker headed a stoppage-time corner narrowly over at the other end.

Worthing’s third successive National League victory moved them to fourth place with 27 points from 14 games, ahead of Altrincham on goal difference. Kidderminster, now five league matches without a win, remained 12th on 20 points despite creating enough chances to take something from the contest.
