Barrow welcome Wealdstone to Holker Street on Saturday looking for a fourth successive National League victory. The Bluebirds have climbed to 12th after wins over Aldershot Town, Southend United and Scunthorpe United, while Wealdstone arrive unbeaten in two.
Barrow’s recent turnaround follows a 1-0 defeat at Solihull Moors. A 1-0 home win over Aldershot began their current sequence before they scored four times at Southend, ending the Shrimpers’ five-match unbeaten run with a 4-2 victory at Roots Hall.
They followed that with a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe on Tuesday. The game remained goalless until the 68th minute, when Rekeem Harper broke the deadlock, before Alex Reid added a second three minutes later and substitute Arian Allen scored his first Barrow goal late on.
The three victories have produced eight goals for Barrow, while they have conceded only twice. They have also kept clean sheets in both home games during the run and begin the weekend with 15 points from 11 matches.
Wealdstone have taken four points from their last two games after responding to consecutive defeats against Halifax and Tamworth. They beat Gateshead 4-0 at Grosvenor Vale before Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Forest Green Rovers.
Fejiri Okenabirhie gave Wealdstone the lead at The New Lawn after 28 minutes before Tate Campbell equalised ten minutes later. That followed the four-goal victory over Gateshead and leaves the Stones with seven goals across their last three league matches.
Saturday will be the clubs’ first National League meeting. Their only previous competitive encounter came in the FA Trophy in January 2012, when Wealdstone won 2-1. Barrow subsequently reached the EFL in 2020, the same year Wealdstone were promoted to the National League, keeping the clubs apart until this season.
Barrow enter the weekend 12th with 15 points after four wins, three draws and four defeats, scoring 18 and conceding 14. Wealdstone are 17th on 12 points after three wins, three draws and five defeats, with 16 goals both scored and conceded.
Barrow’s three-match winning run has transformed a start that produced only six points from their opening eight games. Wealdstone travel north having responded to back-to-back defeats with four points and five goals from their last two.
