Tamworth v Woking

Tamworth welcome Woking to The Lamb Ground on Saturday with just one point separating the clubs in the National League table. Andy Peaks’s side returned to winning ways with a 4-1 victory over Scunthorpe United on Tuesday, while Woking arrive following a narrow defeat to unbeaten leaders Boreham Wood and with Steven Turner’s recent dismissal creating a potential selection concern.

Tamworth scored three times in the opening 43 minutes against Scunthorpe, with Morgan Roberts opening the scoring in the fourth minute before Kieren Donnelly headed in a second from Teo Kurtaran’s cross. Tom McGlinchey added the third shortly before half-time, and although Alfie Beestin pulled one back in first-half stoppage time, returning substitute Dan Creaney completed the scoring in the closing stages.

Donnelly was involved in three of Tamworth’s four goals and has been one of the club’s leading attacking players since joining from Boston United in the summer. Woking’s official preview credits him with seven goals and two assists this season, while Creaney’s return from injury provides Peaks with another option. The striker came off the bench wearing a protective face mask before scoring against Scunthorpe.

Tamworth have won three of their last five league matches, also beating Sutton United 2-0 at home and Hartlepool United 1-0 away. Their two defeats during that sequence came against Aldershot Town and Barrow, the latter a 2-1 home loss in which Teo Kurtaran converted a late penalty before Ben Acquaye narrowly missed a stoppage-time equaliser.

Woking suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Boreham Wood on Tuesday despite taking the lead through Josh Kelly’s 23rd-minute header. Tylor Golden equalised eight minutes later before Vicente Reyes saved Zak Brunt’s penalty shortly after half-time. Regan Booty scored the winner in the 79th minute, and Woking were reduced to 10 men when Turner received a straight red card for a late challenge.

Craig Ross’s side had previously secured a 3-2 away victory at Scunthorpe United, with Aiden O’Brien scoring twice and John Marquis converting a penalty. Woking led 3-0 before Rico Browne was sent off, and Reyes saved James Norwood’s spot-kick as the hosts mounted a comeback. The Cards have won two and lost three of their last five league matches.

Woking announced the signing of Josh Grant earlier this week, although his availability for Saturday has not been confirmed. Turner’s dismissal against Boreham Wood could also affect Ross’s selection, with the club yet to establish publicly whether any suspension or appeal will alter his availability.

The Cards won both National League meetings between the clubs last season. Oliver Sanderson scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory at The Lamb Ground in November 2025 before finding the net again in a 3-1 home win the following March, alongside goals from Aiden O’Brien and Matt Ward. Dan Creaney scored Tamworth’s consolation in the latter fixture.

Tamworth begin Saturday 17th in the National League with 17 points from 14 matches, while Woking sit 14th with 18 points from 15. The Lambs are seeking consecutive home league victories for the first time since September, while the visitors are looking to respond to their defeat against the league leaders.

TopB1ns Edge

Right then, let’s get stuck into this clash at The Lamb Ground between Tamworth and Woking. The odds have Tamworth as slight favourites at 2.20, with Woking at 2.75 and the draw a bit further out at 3.70.

Now, the TopB1ns Edge is shouting for a Tamworth win, which lines up nicely with the bookies’ thinking. But where the real value might be is with the Both Teams to Score bet. The odds for ‘Yes’ are a skinny 1.44, and the TopB1ns Edge is bang on with that one. Both these sides have been finding the net, and historically, their encounters haven’t been shy of goals.

Looking at the Over/Unders, the TopB1ns Edge is backing Over 2.5 goals at 1.50. That’s a decent price, and considering both teams’ scoring records and the BTTS prediction, it looks like a solid punt. They’re also calling for Over 1.5 goals at a very short 1.14, so if you’re feeling confident, that’s a safe inclusion. Beyond that, the Edge sees Under 3.5 goals as the way to go, suggesting this could be a lively affair but not an absolute goal fest. Tamworth’s home form and their scoring streak are impressive, so they’ll fancy their chances here.
