Altrincham 3-1 Gateshead

Altrincham secured a vital three points at the J. Davidson Stadium with a commanding 3-1 victory over Gateshead. The home side started brightly and were rewarded early for their positive approach, taking the lead in the fifth minute through Lucas Weaver. Weaver then doubled his tally and Altrincham’s advantage just fifteen minutes later, converting a chance set up by Charlie Kirk.

Gateshead, however, found a lifeline moments after the restart. In the 47th minute, Ethan Moore pulled one back for the visitors, assisted by Levi Amantchi, to set up a tense second half.

The second half saw both teams looking for an advantage. Gateshead pushed for an equaliser, but Altrincham defended resolutely. The home side eventually sealed their victory in the 97th minute, with substitute Liam Humbles finding the net, following a well-placed assist from Jake Cooper. This late goal confirmed the three points for Altrincham.

The victory sees Altrincham climb to 13th in the English National League standings with 57 points from 46 games. Gateshead remain in 18th place with 50 points, having already avoided relegation.

Right then, let’s have a look at the Altrincham vs. Gateshead clash. The final whistle blew with Altrincham taking it 3-1. Our TopB1ns Edge nailed the 1X2 result, backing Altrincham to win, which they duly delivered at decent odds of 13/10. Lovely stuff.

However, the TopB1ns Edge had a bit of a wobble on the Both Teams To Score front. It predicted ‘No’ on BTTS, but Gateshead managed to nick one, so that one missed the mark. On the Over/Under markets, it’s a mixed bag. TopB1ns Edge was spot on with Over 0.5 and Over 1.5, which is hardly surprising given the scoreline. But it went for Under 2.5 and Under 3.5, which the game comfortably sailed over. It did, however, correctly predict Under 4.5 and beyond, so it’s not all bad news on the goal line front. Early days for the model, mind you, just a few teething issues to iron out!
