Tamworth secured a convincing 5-1 victory over Braintree Town at The Lamb Ground, a performance that underscored their dominance throughout the encounter.
The home side drew first blood in the seventh minute when Stefan Mols found the back of the net, giving Tamworth an early lead. Braintree Town, however, responded effectively and managed to equalise in the 22nd minute. Lewis Walker was the scorer, with Matt Dibley-Dias providing the assist.
The parity did not last long. Tamworth reclaimed their advantage in the 29th minute, with Dan Creaney adding his name to the scoresheet.
The second half commenced with Tamworth extending their lead almost immediately. Stefan Mols notched his second goal of the game in the 47th minute. The hosts further bolstered their advantage in the 51st minute through an own goal by Braintree’s Caleb Ansen. The scoring was rounded off in the 83rd minute by Oliver Lynch, who converted a move involving Luke Fairlamb, sealing a resounding win for Tamworth.
This result sees Tamworth comfortably placed in mid-table in the English National League, occupying 11th position with 62 points from 46 games. Braintree Town, conversely, are confirmed for relegation, finishing the season in 23rd place with 36 points from their 46 matches.
