Southend United secured a commanding 6-2 victory over FC Halifax Town at The Shay Stadium in a match that proved to be a goal-fest. The visitors, in strong recent form, displayed impressive attacking prowess, ultimately overpowering their hosts.
The scoring commenced early. In the sixth minute, Oliver Coker opened the account for Southend United, with Jack Bridge providing the assist. FC Halifax Town responded swiftly, levelling the score in the 19th minute through William Harris, who was assisted by Cody Johnson.
The parity was short-lived. Southend United were awarded a penalty, which Andy Dallas converted in the 31st minute to regain the lead. The visitors extended their advantage just before the interval, with Harry Cardwell adding a third goal in the 42nd minute, set up by Dallas.

FC Halifax Town showed resilience, with substitute Kieron Morris, on the pitch for just four minutes, reducing the deficit in the 85th minute, assisted by William Harris. However, Southend United had the final word. Substitute Leon Chambers-Parillon, who had entered the game in the 61st minute, scored the sixth goal in the 97th minute, with Jack Bridge again providing the assist.
This result sees Southend United solidify their sixth-place position in the league, accumulating 78 points from 44 games and remaining in contention for a playoff spot. FC Halifax Town occupy eighth place with 67 points from 45 matches, having already secured their playoff berth.
