Scunthorpe United secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Altrincham at the Attis Arena, snatching all three points with a late winner from Alfie Beestin in added time.
The visitors had taken a deserved lead in the 40th minute. Samuel Reed provided a well-placed assist for Lucas Weaver, who found the back of the net. Altrincham, having defended resolutely for much of the first half, appeared set to take a valuable lead into the interval.
However, Scunthorpe United emerged for the second period with renewed vigour. Their persistence was rewarded in the 64th minute when Joseph Starbuck levelled the score, with Joe Rowley providing the crucial pass.
As the match entered its final stages, both sides pushed for a winner, creating a tense and enthralling spectacle. Scunthorpe United introduced Oliver Ewing and Alfie Beestin from the bench in the 63rd minute, a substitution that would ultimately prove inspired.
