The Rare Breed Meat Co. Stadium was the scene of a high-scoring encounter as Wealdstone secured a decisive 4-1 victory over Braintree Town. The match initially saw the home side take the lead, but Wealdstone mounted a strong comeback to claim all three points.
Braintree Town opened the scoring in the 12th minute. John Akinde converted a penalty, calmly placing the ball into the net to give Braintree Town a 1-0 advantage. However, this lead was short-lived. In the second half, Braintree Town attempted to find an equaliser, but their efforts proved unsuccessful. Wealdstone’s attacking strength proved too much to overcome. In the 76th minute, Micah Obiero scored his second goal of the match, extending Wealdstone’s advantage to 3-1. Braintree Town pushed for a late goal, but a 96th minute own goal from Matt Dibley-Dias confirmed a comprehensive 4-1 win for Wealdstone.
