The visitors responded with purpose, and their persistence paid off in the 34th minute when Chris Popov equalised for Morecambe, assisted by Liam Hogan. The score remained level at 1-1 until the stroke of half-time, a period punctuated by several bookings. However, Wealdstone rallied in the second half. Micah Obiero, introduced from the bench in the 62nd minute, pulled a goal back for the Stones in the 73rd minute, assisted by Olomola, reducing the deficit to 3-2.
Despite a spirited effort from Wealdstone in the closing stages, Morecambe held firm to secure a crucial three points. The victory was not without its drama, as Morecambe’s Lewis Payne received a second yellow card in the 85th minute, reducing them to ten men for the final minutes of the match.
