Hartlepool United secured a dramatic 4-3 victory over Solihull Moors at Damson Park in an English National League fixture characterised by relentless intensity.
The home side drew first blood in the eighth minute when Conor Wilkinson converted a penalty. Solihull Moors extended their lead in the thirty-second minute through an own goal, leaving Hartlepool United with a two-goal deficit.
However, Hartlepool United responded before half-time. Alex Reid halved the deficit in the 40th minute, latching onto a pass from Cameron John. Jamie Miley then brought the scores level at 2-2 just three minutes later, transforming the complexion of the first half.
The second half remained a tense affair until the 84th minute when Hartlepool United took the lead. Tyrese Sinclair found the back of the net, assisted by Matty Daly, who had been introduced as a substitute a minute earlier. This goal put Hartlepool United 3-2 ahead.
In the 101st minute, Tyrese Sinclair scored his second goal of the game, again assisted by Matty Daly, extending Hartlepool United’s lead to 4-2.
Solihull Moors rallied in the 105th minute when substitute Emmanuel Sonupe pulled a goal back, assisted by fellow substitute Oscar Rutherford, narrowing the deficit to 4-3.
The final whistle confirmed a seven-goal thriller. The result sees Hartlepool United move up to ninth in the National League standings with 48 points, leapfrogging Solihull Moors, who remain in tenth place with 42 points.
