The deadlock was broken in the 13th minute when Miguel Azeez found the back of the net, giving Morecambe an early advantage. The first half remained a relatively tight affair, with both teams battling for control in midfield.
Morecambe asserted their dominance in the second half with a flurry of goals. Jack Nolan doubled their lead in the 56th minute. Lewis Payne extended the advantage just two minutes later, assisted by Chris Popov.
