Morecambe secured a commanding 4-0 away victory over Boston United at The Jakemans Community Stadium. The Shrimps delivered a clinical performance, netting four times without reply to earn a memorable three points in the English National League.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Jake Cain broke the deadlock for Morecambe, finding the back of the net following an assist from Maldini Kacurri. The early advantage settled Morecambe, and they extended their lead just before half time through Gwion Edwards.
Boston United attempted to find a way back into the match. They made a tactical substitution just before the interval, introducing Jordy Hiwula-Mayifuila in place of Lenell John-Lewis. However, Morecambe’s defence remained resolute.
The second half saw Joe Nuttall put the game firmly beyond Boston’s reach. In the 53rd minute, Nuttall extended Morecambe’s lead to three, assisted by Jack Nolan. Just five minutes later, Nuttall scored his second of the game, converting a penalty to make it 0-4.
The match saw several players cautioned. Ben Williams of Morecambe received a yellow card for a foul. For Boston United, Marcel Lavinier, Greg Sloggett, and Jordy Hiwula-Mayifuila were all shown yellow cards for infringements.
Morecambe made a series of substitutions in the latter stages, bringing on Ben Tollitt, Yann Songo’o, Rolando Aarons, Admiral Muskwe, and Mo Sangare. Boston United also made further changes, with Owen Hampson, Rocco Coyle, and Manni Norkett entering the field.
The result leaves Boston United in 16th position in the National League with 17 points from 15 games and a goal difference of -7. Morecambe’s victory lifts them to 23rd place with 11 points from 14 matches, with a goal difference of -19.
