Woking 2-2 Truro City

The Laithwaite Community Stadium was the venue for a National League clash that ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw between Woking and Truro City. In a match officiated by Callum Walchester, a late flurry of goals ensured both sides left with a point.

Woking took the lead in the 25th minute, Harry Beautyman finding the net to give the home side a narrow advantage going into the break. The first half also saw Woking’s Oliver Sanderson receive a yellow card in the 11th minute for a foul. At the start of the second half, Woking manager Neal Ardley made a tactical change, replacing Aiden O’Brien with Josh Kelly.

Truro City began the second half with renewed energy, although Lirak Hasani was shown a yellow card in the 48th minute. Woking’s Olatunji Akinola was also cautioned in the 66th minute. Truro City made their first substitution in the 69th minute, with Aiden Marsh replacing Connor Riley-Lowe. Woking responded in the 79th minute with a double substitution, Timi Odusina and Jake Forster-Caskey replacing Jack Turner and Olatunji Akinola, respectively.

The final fifteen minutes saw the game ignite. In the 77th minute, Will Dean, assisted by Dominic Johnson-Fisher, levelled the score for Truro City. Then, in the 87th minute, Zac Bell put the visitors ahead. However, Harry Beautyman scored from the penalty spot in the 89th minute, securing a dramatic equaliser for Woking. Tempers flared towards the end of the match, resulting in a yellow card for Will Dean in added time. Truro City made a final substitution in the 95th minute, bringing on Harry Kite for Luke Jephcott, shortly before the final whistle.

The draw leaves Woking in 18th place in the National League table with 13 points from 14 games, with three wins, four draws, and seven losses. Truro City, managed by John Askey, remain in 23rd place with 8 points, having recorded two wins, two draws, and ten losses.
