Hartlepool United 1-2 York City

A late flurry of goals at the Prestige Group Stadium saw York City secure a 2-1 victory over Hartlepool United in their National League encounter. The match, overseen by referee Dale Baines, saw York City take the lead in the 25th minute through Alex Newby.

Hartlepool struggled to find a response, with Michael Dacosta and Matty Daly both receiving yellow cards in the second half for fouls. Hartlepool manager Simon Grayson sought to change the dynamic, introducing Vadaine Oliver in place of Michael Dacosta in the 61st minute.

York City manager Stuart Maynard responded with a double substitution in the 62nd minute, bringing on Ollie Banks and Daniel Batty to reinforce the midfield.

The game remained tight as Hartlepool pressed for an equaliser. York City extended their lead in the 86th minute when substitute Ben Brooks scored, assisted by fellow substitute Ollie Banks. Hartlepool responded quickly, with substitute Vadaine Oliver pulling a goal back for the home side in the 88th minute.

Despite the late pressure, Hartlepool were unable to find an equaliser, and the match finished 1-2 to York City.

The victory lifts York City to 6th in the National League table with 22 points from 12 games. Hartlepool United remain in 11th place with 18 points from 14 games and are now winless in their last three games. York City, conversely, celebrated their first winning streak in their last game.

This result means both Hartlepool and York have each won two of the four matches played between the sides in the last three seasons.

York City nicked it 1-2 against Hartlepool. Away win at 17/20, a proper result, but TopB1ns Edge thought it was heading for a draw. Teething issues, eh?

BTTS landed, despite TopB1ns Edge calling ‘No.’ Over 0.5 and 1.5 came in no worries, but the Edge was spot on with Under 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5. Genius, the model!

The highlight? TopB1ns Edge flagged something different on the unders, and those calls came in, beating the bookies. That’s where the real value is, innit?
