FC Halifax Town 2-0 Brackley Town

Halifax Town Secure Home Win Against Brackley

FC Halifax Town defeated Brackley Town 2-0 at The Shay, a result that propels the Shaymen further up the National League table. Dean Watson oversaw the match in front of a vocal home crowd.

The first half ended goalless, though Brackley’s Will Armitage received a yellow card in the 23rd minute for a foul. At half-time, Halifax manager Adam Lakeland made a tactical switch, bringing on Owen Bray to replace Sean Tarima.

Shortly after the interval, Halifax broke the deadlock. David Kawa scored in the 47th minute, handing the home side a vital lead. Brackley struggled to mount a response, and their difficulties were compounded by yellow cards issued to Scott Pollock in the 55th minute and Morgan Roberts in the 87th minute.

Brackley manager Gavin Cowan sought to revitalise his team with a series of substitutions. Bailey Hobson replaced Will Armitage in the 68th minute. A triple substitution followed in the 76th minute, with Riccardo Calder replacing Ryan Haynes and Tyler Lyttle coming on for Justin Donawa. In the 82nd minute, Miracle Okafor replaced Danny Waldron, and Connor Hall replaced Matt Lowe.

Halifax also made tactical adjustments. In the 75th minute, William Harris replaced Owen Devonport, Thierry Latty-Fairweather replaced David Kawa, and Jack Jenkins replaced Josh Hmami. The introduction of Latty-Fairweather would prove to be a significant move.

In added time, Halifax secured the victory. Owen Bray scored in the 93rd minute, with Thierry Latty-Fairweather providing the assist. Halifax’s final substitution saw Adam Alimi-Adetoro replace Jay Turner-Cooke in the 88th minute, further strengthening their defence.

This victory extends Halifax’s unbeaten run to six games, during which they have scored in every match. Conversely, this defeat marks Brackley’s third consecutive loss, a period in which they have failed to score.

Following this result, FC Halifax Town now sit in 6th position with 24 points after 14 games. Brackley Town are in 16th position with 16 points after 13 games.

Right, listen up. Halifax battered Brackley 2-0, a proper result for the home side. The bookies had Halifax at 7/4, but TopB1ns Edge called the home win. Chalk that up as a win for the model.

BTTS? No chance, as TopB1ns Edge rightly predicted. The bookies were dangling 4/5 for “yes,” but we swerved that dodgy action. Smart move.

Now, the Over/Under. TopB1ns Edge saw Over 0.5 and Over 1.5, and it came to pass. Easy money. But, and it’s a big but, the Edge was off on the Over 2.5. Saw goals where there weren’t any. Teething issues, I reckon. Under 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, and 6.5? All correct — TopB1ns Edge knew it wouldn’t be a goal-fest.

So, a mixed bag, but the big calls were spot on. The Edge is sharp, even if it needs a bit more polish. Halifax to win and a clean sheet? That’s what I call a Saturday afternoon. Onto the next one!
