Eastleigh and Solihull Moors fought to a 1-1 draw at the Silverlake Stadium in a closely contested match. The result leaves both sides with a single point, unlikely to fully satisfy either team after a game defined by tactical adjustments and moments of individual skill.
The first half concluded without a goal, despite both teams’ efforts. The physical nature of the midfield battle was highlighted in the 28th minute when Eastleigh’s Jake Taylor received a yellow card for a foul. At half-time, Solihull Moors made their first tactical change, bringing Oliver Tipton on to replace Jamey Osborne.
Shortly after the interval, Solihull Moors broke the deadlock in the 47th minute. Jacob Wakeling found the net, assisted by Ben Worman. However, their lead proved short-lived. Eastleigh began to exert more pressure as the second half unfolded, prompting a substitution in the 57th minute, with Luke Skinner replacing Aaron Blair as the home side looked to inject more dynamism into their attack.
Solihull Moors responded with their own substitution in the 62nd minute, introducing Szhem Whyte-Hall for Callum McFarlane. Whyte-Hall’s impact was immediate, but detrimental to his side, as he received a yellow card just four minutes after entering the pitch. Eastleigh then made a double substitution in the 70th minute, with Kieron Evans replacing Jake Taylor, and Jake Vokins replacing Harvey Saunders, who had scored the equaliser a minute earlier.
The equalising goal arrived in the 69th minute, with Harvey Saunders scoring for Eastleigh, assisted by Archie Harris. Eastleigh’s momentum was briefly checked when Jake Vokins received a yellow card in the 81st minute.
Both teams continued to push for a winning goal in the final minutes. Eastleigh introduced Angel Waruih for Ciaran McGuckin in the 84th minute, while Solihull Moors brought on Sam Bowen for Bradley Stevenson in the 86th minute. Despite these late changes, neither side could find the decisive goal.
The draw places Eastleigh 13th in the National League with 18 points from 13 games. Solihull Moors sit in 17th place with 14 points from 14 matches. Eastleigh are now undefeated in their last four games and have scored in their last two, while Solihull Moors are winless in their last two fixtures.
