Brunton Park was the venue for a captivating match as Carlisle United defeated Hartlepool United 3-1, in a game characterised by attacking football and determination from both sides.
Carlisle United made a quick start, with Cameron Harper scoring in the 4th minute, assisted by Regan Linney. Carlisle maintained this narrow lead until half-time.
Hartlepool returned after the interval with renewed purpose, and Jermaine Francis equalised in the 46th minute. This goal injected fresh impetus into the visitors’ challenge. Hartlepool had introduced Matty Daly for Besart Topalloj at half-time, adding dynamism to their midfield.
As the second half progressed, both teams searched for openings. Carlisle, looking to regain the lead, brought on Josh Grant for Terell Thomas in the 61st minute. Hartlepool responded in the 67th minute, substituting Brad Walker for Tom Parkes, in an attempt to strengthen their midfield.

In the 89th minute, Carlisle secured the victory when Morgan Feeney scored, assisted by Regan Linney, extending the lead to 3-1. Carlisle then substituted Stephen Wearne for Callum Whelan in added time.
The final whistle confirmed Carlisle’s victory, which moves them to 3rd place in the league standings with 26 points. Hartlepool United remain in 11th position with 18 points.
