FC Halifax Town 4-2 Aldershot Town

At the Shay Stadium, FC Halifax Town emerged victorious in a six-goal contest against Aldershot Town, with the final score of 4-2 reflecting a match characterised by attacking football and resilience from both sides.

FC Halifax Town began strongly, capitalising on early momentum when William Harris put them ahead in the 7th minute. The Shaymen swiftly doubled their advantage just four minutes later, with Jamie Cooke finding the net, assisted by Shaun Hobson.

Aldershot Town responded before the interval, as James Clarridge reduced the deficit, offering their travelling supporters hope as the first half drew to a close.

In the second half, FC Halifax Town reasserted their dominance. Jamie Cooke scored again in the 63rd minute, this time assisted by Owen Bray. The home side then extended their lead further in the 77th minute when Josh Hmami scored, assisted by Angelo Capello.

However, Aldershot Town continued to battle. Substitute Hady Ghandour, who had only just entered the pitch, scored in added time, assisted by Ryan Jones.

The match was punctuated by a series of yellow cards. Sean Tarima, Archy Taylor, Jack Jenkins, and Jamie Cooke were all cautioned for fouls. Kwame Thomas and Ryan Hill also received yellow cards late in the game.

Both managers made substitutions during the second half. Aldershot Town introduced Kwame Thomas for James Henry. FC Halifax Town responded by replacing Will Hugill with Thierry Latty-Fairweather and Owen Bray with Jack Jenkins. Further substitutions followed, with Owen Devonport replacing William Harris, Jack Jenkins replacing Owen Bray, David Kawa replacing Angelo Capello, and AJ Warburton replacing Josh Hmami. Aldershot also brought on Hady Ghandour for Tristan Abrahams, Ben Jackson for James Clarridge, Kiban Rai for Josh Barrett, and Charlie Penman for Dejan Tetek.

The result sees FC Halifax Town climb to 9th in the English National League with 18 points from 12 games, continuing their undefeated streak and goal-scoring form. Aldershot Town, meanwhile, find themselves in 17th place with 12 points from the same number of games.

Right, Halifax v Aldershot, proper football. The Shay was bouncing, six goals flying in, just like a good old English non-league match should be.

TopB1ns Edge called the home win at 21/20, good shout that. The genius model also saw BTTS coming, 53/100 well earned.

The over/under market was a proper ding-dong. TopB1ns Edge was bang on for Over 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5. We even saw Over 4.5 land, but the model saw Under 4.5 and 5.5. Teething issues, I reckon. It also saw Under 6.5, which landed sweet as a nut.

So, a mixed bag, but a home win and BTTS? Can’t complain. Time for a pint and to tweak the model for next time.
