Truro City 0-1 Rochdale

Truro City’s difficult season continued at the Truro Sports Hub as they suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat against a resolute Rochdale side. The match, overseen by referee Richie Watkins, saw Rochdale take advantage of an early opportunity, leaving Truro City searching for solutions as they look to climb the National League table.

The decisive moment arrived in the 11th minute when Kyron Gordon scored for Rochdale, setting the stage for a tightly contested match. The first half saw two yellow cards issued: Samuel Sanders of Truro City was cautioned in the 14th minute for a foul, and Gordon himself received a yellow card in the 26th minute, also for a foul.

Truro City began the second half with renewed energy, seeking to level the score. However, Rochdale’s defence remained solid, thwarting their attacking efforts. Both sides made tactical adjustments in an attempt to gain the upper hand. In the 63rd minute, Rochdale brought on Connor McBride, replacing Aidan Barlow, in an attempt to inject fresh impetus into their attack. Truro City responded in the 69th minute, replacing Yassine En-Neyah with Lirak Hasani in midfield.

The substitutions continued in the 73rd minute, with Rochdale making a double change: Anthony Mancini replaced Devante Rodney, and Kevin Berkoe came on for Tarryn Allarakhia. Truro City’s Shaun Donnellan received a yellow card in the 65th minute for a foul, highlighting the combative nature of the match. Rochdale’s Emmanuel Dieseruvwe also received a yellow card in the 76th minute, again for a foul.

As the match drew to a close, Truro City made a further change, bringing on Ben Starkie for Zac Bell in the 80th minute. Rochdale responded with a double substitution in the 84th minute, introducing Casey Pettit for Ryan East and Daniel Moss for Tobi Adebayo-Rowling, reinforcing their defensive line. Truro City’s final substitution came in the 89th minute when Luke Jephcott replaced Harry Kite.

Despite their efforts, Truro City were unable to break down Rochdale’s defence, and the match ended with the visitors securing a 0-1 victory. This result sees Rochdale consolidate their position at the top of the National League table, currently sitting in 1st place with 21 points, while Truro City remain near the bottom, in 23rd position with 4 points. Rochdale have now won their last three games, while Truro City are now winless in their last two.

Right, let’s have a butcher’s at that Truro City versus Rochdale match. Final score 0-1 to the Dale, a proper smash and grab away win at 73/100 with the bookies. Bang on for anyone who backed ’em.

TopB1ns Edge, bless its cotton socks, had a bit of a mare on the 1X2, predicting a draw when Rochdale nicked it. Teething issues, eh? It was spot on with the BTTS though. TopB1ns Edge called No, and the game ended with only one goal, so both teams failed to score. A correct call and a profit at 1/1.

The Over/Under market was a mixed bag. TopB1ns Edge was all over the shop, predicting overs when unders came in, apart from the 3.5 and 4.5, which it got right. The model was also correct on the 0.5. Good to see the Edge getting one over on the bookies at least, even if it was just the once. Early days for the model, needs a bit more tweaking. Still, onwards and upwards, eh? T’model will get there.
