Andrew Miller officiated a closely fought National League encounter at The Prestige Group Stadium, where Hartlepool United and Boston United played out a 1-1 draw. Boston United returned after the break with increased purpose, levelling the score in the 54th minute through Manni Norkett.
The second half saw a flurry of substitutions as both managers looked to revitalise their teams. In the 70th minute, Boston introduced Rocco Coyle in place of Jacob Scott, and shortly afterwards, in the 73rd minute, Luca Alonzi replaced Manni Norkett. Hartlepool responded in the 79th minute with a double substitution, bringing on Danny Johnson and Sam Folarin for Matty Daly and Jermaine Francis respectively. Further changes followed, with Hartlepool’s goalscorer, Luke Charman, making way for Besart Topalloj in the 82nd minute, and Boston’s Jordy Hiwula-Mayifuila replaced by Lenell John-Lewis a minute later. Hartlepool completed their substitutions in the 87th minute, Nicky Featherstone replacing Brad Walker. The match intensity remained high, with Alex Lankshear and Ben Grist of Boston, and Cameron John of Hartlepool, all receiving yellow cards in the latter stages of the game.
The draw ensures Hartlepool United continue their undefeated start to the season and sees them sitting in 5th position with 13 points. Boston United, meanwhile, are in 17th place with 7 points.
