Eastleigh edged out Altrincham with a 2-1 victory at the Silverlake Stadium, in a match that sprang to life after a quiet first half. The second half saw Eastleigh overturn Altrincham’s early lead to secure a valuable three points.
Altrincham took the lead in the 20th minute, with James Gale finding the net. The remainder of the first half was a cautious affair, marked by yellow cards for Gale and Altrincham’s Luke Hutchinson. Eastleigh made an early substitution in the 38th minute, with Sonnie Davis replacing Temitope Eweka for tactical reasons.
The second half began with immediate impact. Eastleigh equalised in the 48th minute through Kieron Evans, assisted by Harvey Saunders, who had been introduced as a half-time substitute. Just three minutes later, Eastleigh took the lead; this time Harvey Saunders turned scorer, with Archie Harris providing the assist.
