Yeovil Town 1-2 Sutton United

A closely fought National League match at Huish Park saw Sutton United secure a 2-1 victory over Yeovil Town, in a game defined by second-half goals and tactical adjustments. The visitors ultimately left with all three points.

Yeovil Town took the lead in the 30th minute of the first half, Ciaran McGuckin finding the net, assisted by Harvey Greenslade. Their advantage, however, proved to be temporary following the restart.

Sutton United’s manager, Steve Morison, made a double substitution at half-time, introducing Siju Odelusi and Ashley Nadesan. These changes had an immediate impact, with Odelusi levelling the score in the 50th minute, assisted by Lewis Simper. Just eleven minutes later, Simper himself turned scorer, with Will Davies providing the assist to put Sutton ahead 2-1.

In response, Yeovil manager Mark Cooper made a triple substitution in the 65th minute, bringing on Jake Wannell, Aaron Jarvis, and Josh Sims. Despite the changes, Yeovil were unable to find an equaliser. The match became increasingly disjointed, with a flurry of late substitutions from both sides as Sutton looked to secure their lead and Yeovil sought to salvage a draw. Referee Emily Heaslip issued yellow cards to Harry Kite, Ashley Nadesan, Harvey Greenslade, and Jake Wannell.

This win moves Sutton United to 59 points, placing them 13th in the league table. Yeovil Town remain in 16th position with 56 points.
