A hard-fought National League match at the Laithwaite Community Stadium saw Woking and Eastleigh share the spoils in a 2-2 draw, a result that keeps both sides in the lower reaches of the league table, with Eastleigh holding a narrow advantage over Woking.
Eastleigh took the lead in the 14th minute when Tyrese Shade, assisted by Ben Close, found the net. Woking responded just before half-time, with Aiden O’Brien, assisted by Jacob Jones, levelling the score in the 42nd minute.
The second half continued in a similar vein of intensity. Shade scored his second goal of the match for Eastleigh in the 60th minute, this time assisted by Joe McDonnell. Tensions rose soon after, with Matt Ward of Woking receiving a yellow card in the 54th minute, followed by Shade in the 61st.
In an attempt to shift the momentum, Woking manager Neal Ardley made a series of substitutions. Josh Osude replaced Ward in the 61st minute, followed by Frank Vincent for O’Brien in the 73rd minute, and Sha’mar Lawson for Jones in the 81st minute. Eastleigh manager Kelvin Davis also made tactical changes, bringing on Jai Semenyo and Nathan Tshikuna at half-time, Lee Hodson in the 83rd minute, and Lloyd Humphries deep into stoppage time.
Woking’s pressure eventually told in the 86th minute when Jamie Andrews scored, drawing the home side level for a second time. The match concluded with further disciplinary action, as Lawson and Chris Maguire were both shown yellow cards in added time.
The draw leaves Eastleigh in 12th place with 59 points, while Woking are in 14th position with 57 points.
