Dagenham and Redbridge 6-1 Altrincham

Dagenham and Redbridge delivered a comprehensive performance at the Chigwell Construction Stadium, dismantling Altrincham in a 6-1 victory. The home side displayed an attacking intent from the outset that Altrincham struggled to contain.

The onslaught began early, with Josh Rees opening the scoring in the 6th minute. Rees struck again in the 22nd minute, courtesy of an assist from Aaron Loupalo-Bi, extending Dagenham’s lead. The home side continued to dominate, and Harry Phipps added a third in the 25th minute, assisted by Dion Pereira. Just before the interval, Pereira converted a penalty in the 47th minute, sending Dagenham into half-time with a commanding 4-0 advantage. Altrincham, already under pressure, had Lewis Baines and Lewis Banks cautioned, receiving yellow cards in the 41st and 46th minutes respectively.

Altrincham manager Phil Parkinson responded with a quartet of substitutions at half-time, introducing Harvey Randle, James Jones, Joe Nuttall, and Matt Penney in an attempt to shift the momentum. However, the changes had little impact on the course of the match.

Dagenham continued their dominance in the second half, with Josh Rees completing his hat-trick in the 73rd minute, assisted by Josh Umerah. Altrincham’s difficulties were further compounded in the 84th minute when Charlie Olson scored an own goal, making it 6-0. A late consolation goal from Joe Nuttall in the 92nd minute, assisted by Matt Penney, offered little comfort for the visitors.

Further yellow cards were issued to George Wilson of Altrincham in the 65th minute and Chris Francis of Dagenham in the 79th minute. Dagenham made a series of substitutions in the second half, including Trent Mahorn replacing Shiloh Remy (61’), Christian N’Guessan replacing Dion Pereira (71’), Marcus Wyllie replacing Josh Umerah (76’), Rafiq Khaleel replacing Josh Rees (86’) and Conor Lawless replacing Aaron Loupalo-Bi (86’). Altrincham also brought on Kahrel Reddin for Lewis Baines (61’).

The emphatic victory sees Dagenham and Redbridge climb to 20th in the league standings with 51 points, while Altrincham’s defeat means they missed out on the play-offs, remaining in 9th position with 63 points.
