Barnet delivered a dominant display at The Hive Stadium, securing a resounding 4-0 victory over Aldershot Town in a match characterised by clinical finishing and tactical superiority. Barnet have been crowned champions, achieving automatic promotion, and ending the season on a high with an impressive 99 points. The scoring commenced early when Mark Shelton converted a penalty in the 7th minute, setting the tone for Barnet’s attacking intent. Shelton doubled his tally just thirteen minutes later, again from the penalty spot, extending Barnet’s lead and placing Aldershot under considerable pressure. The visitors struggled to contain Barnet’s forward momentum, finding themselves consistently on the back foot. Theo Widdrington received a yellow card for a foul in the 40th minute, compounding Aldershot’s difficulties as they headed into the interval trailing by two goals.
The second half offered no respite for Aldershot, as Barnet maintained their dominance. Callum Stead added a third goal in the 51st minute, further cementing Barnet’s control of the match. Just four minutes later, Stead struck again, assisted by Rhys Browne, to make it 4-0, effectively sealing the victory for the home side.
