Woking delivered a blistering first-half performance at the Laithwaite Community Stadium, comprehensively defeating Aldershot Town in this National League fixture. The home side, eager to improve their mid-table position, started strongly, overwhelming the Shots from the outset. Aldershot, who began the match just above Woking in the standings, struggled to contain the Cardinals’ attacking threat.
The scoring commenced early, with Tariq Hinds finding the net in the 3rd minute, assisted by Sam Ashford. Woking maintained their pressure, and in the 13th minute, Daniel Moss added a second goal. The Aldershot defence continued to buckle, and five minutes later, Hinds scored again, this time assisted by Adam Chicksen, extending Woking’s lead to a commanding 3-0 advantage.
The first half also saw several disciplinary actions. Daniel Moss received a yellow card in the 11th minute. Aldershot’s Will Armitage and Dejan Tetek were also booked before the interval, reflecting the visitors’ growing frustration. Woking were forced into two substitutions before half-time, with Jermaine Anderson replacing Dale Gorman in the 39th minute and Frank Vincent coming on for Adam Chicksen in the 43rd.
Aldershot attempted to reorganise in the second half, making substitutions to inject fresh impetus into their attack. Jack Barham replaced Hady Ghandour in the 56th minute, followed by James Henry for Aaron Jones in the 63rd, and Kai Corbett for Ryan Jones in the 72nd. Woking responded with substitutions of their own, Dion Kelly-Evans replacing Aiden O’Brien in the 67th minute and Matt Ward replacing Daniel Moss in the 73rd.
The second half became increasingly fragmented, with a flurry of yellow cards issued. Jermaine Anderson, Jack Barham, Marcus Dewhurst, and Matt Ward all received cautions. Late substitutions saw Aldershot introduce Emmanuel Maja-Awesu and Maxwell Mullins, while Woking brought on Josh Osude.
Despite Aldershot’s attempts to reduce the deficit, Woking remained solid in defence, maintaining their clean sheet and securing a decisive victory. The result sees Woking climb to 14th in the table, while Aldershot drop to 17th and will need to address their defensive vulnerabilities to maintain their aspirations for the season.
