At the EBB Stadium, Boston United secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Aldershot Town, decided by a late goal in a match characterised by tactical adjustments and second-half action. Referee Sam Mulhall oversaw the contest, where both teams were vying for valuable points as the season nears its end.
The first half was tightly contested, with neither side able to unlock the opposing defence. As the interval approached, Aldershot Town’s Tyler Frost, assisted by Oliver Bray, broke the deadlock in the 45th minute, handing the home side a narrow advantage.
Boston United manager Graham Coughlan responded in the 69th minute of the second half with a tactical switch, replacing Dylan Hill with James Gale. This substitution proved pivotal, as Gale justified his manager’s decision by equalising in the 72nd minute, with Frankie Maguire providing the assist.
Aldershot Town reacted with substitutions of their own. Emmanuel Maja-Awesu replaced James Henry in the 71st minute, and Maxwell Mullins came on for Oliver Bray in the 78th minute, as they sought to regain the lead. Boston United also made a change, introducing Keaton Ward for Frankie Maguire in the 82nd minute.
As the match entered its final stages, tension mounted. Dan Ellison of Aldershot Town received a yellow card in the 86th minute following a foul. With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Jai Rowe scored the decisive goal for Boston United in the 91st minute, assisted by substitute Keaton Ward.
In added time, tempers flared, resulting in Kwame Thomas of Aldershot Town receiving a yellow card in the 93rd minute for a foul. Boston United then made a final substitution, bringing on Jacob Scott for Jacob Hazel in the 94th minute to secure the victory.
The result sees Boston United move to 20th in the league table with 46 points, while Aldershot Town remain in 14th place with 53 points.
