Wealdstone 2-1 Forest Green Rovers

Grosvenor Vale was the stage for a hard-fought and closely contested match, as Wealdstone secured a 2-1 victory over Forest Green Rovers. The encounter, characterised by moments of high drama and tactical adjustments, concluded with the home side earning a crucial three points.

Forest Green drew first blood in the 19th minute, with Jordon Garrick putting the visitors ahead. Wealdstone responded on the stroke of half-time; Alex Reid converting a penalty in the 45th minute to level the score.

The second half commenced with a demonstration of the heightened tension, as both Wealdstone’s Neil Gibson and Forest Green Rovers’ Steve Cotterill received yellow cards for dissent. Wealdstone had already made a substitution in the 43rd minute, replacing Connor McAvoy with Adrian Mariappa in a tactical move to reinforce their defence. This win sees Wealdstone move to 48 points, placing them 18th in the National League table, providing a significant boost to their efforts to secure their league status. Forest Green Rovers, despite the defeat, remain in a strong position, sitting third with 75 points and firmly within the promotion playoff contention.
