A thrilling six-goal encounter at the EBB Stadium saw Aldershot Town and Ebbsfleet United battle to a 3-3 draw, leaving both sets of supporters breathless. The opening half was a whirlwind of attacking football, with five goals flying in.
Aldershot drew first blood in the 14th minute. Cameron Hargreaves’ pass found Ryan Jones, who finished clinically to give the hosts the lead. Ebbsfleet’s response was almost immediate. Just two minutes later, George Moncur’s assist allowed Franklin Domi to level the scores at 1-1. The see-saw nature of the game continued as Aldershot regained their advantage in the 19th minute. This time, it was Jones turning provider, setting up Josh Barrett for a fine finish.
Undeterred, Ebbsfleet mounted another swift comeback. In the 27th minute, Moncur, having assisted the first equaliser, got on the scoresheet himself to make it 2-2. The visitors then completed a remarkable turnaround just three minutes later, taking the lead for the first time when Aaron Cosgrave found the back of the net. The half-time whistle blew with Ebbsfleet holding a slender 3-2 advantage after a breathtaking opening 45 minutes.
While the second half didn’t quite reach the frenetic heights of the first, it was far from a dull affair. Aldershot pressed for an equaliser, and their persistence paid off in the 67th minute when Tyler Frost converted a penalty to bring the scores level at 3-3. The final 20 minutes saw both sides searching for a winner, but neither could find the decisive breakthrough. A flurry of substitutions followed as both managers looked to gain the upper hand. Ebbsfleet introduced fresh attacking options in Dominic Poleon and Kwame Thomas, while Aldershot brought on James Henry and Theo Widdrington to bolster their midfield. Despite the late changes and a couple of late yellow cards shown to Ebbsfleet players, the match ultimately ended in a stalemate.
The draw leaves Aldershot 16th in the National League, while Ebbsfleet remain in 24th.
