Oldham Athletic 0-2 York City

Oldham Athletic suffered a 2-0 defeat against York City in their English National League match at Boundary Park. York City took the lead in the 24th minute with a goal from Malachi Fagan-Walcott. York City continued to push forward and doubled their lead in the 38th minute through a goal from Ollie Pearce.

Before Fagan-Walcott’s goal, Reagan Ogle was booked in the 22nd minute for a foul. Additional bookings were given to Callum Howe and Ashley Nathaniel-George in the 42nd and 46th minutes, respectively, for fouls. York City’s win saw them move up to second place in the English National League standings, while Oldham Athletic dropped to fifth.

Oldham Athletic made a tactical substitution at halftime, replacing Alex Reid with Mike Fondop-Talum. York City also made changes, substituting Ashley Nathaniel-George for Josh Stones in the 61st minute. Further substitutions were made by both teams, but York City continued to control the game. Emmanuel Monthe and Harrison Male received yellow cards in the 65th and 91st minutes, respectively, for fouls.

York City sealed their victory with no further goals scored in the second half. The win extended York City’s good form, while Oldham Athletic will look to regroup and bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
