Yeovil Town 1-1 Woking

In an engaging fixture at Huish Park, Yeovil Town and Woking played out a closely contested 1-1 draw in the English National League, with Woking now unbeaten in their last three meetings against Yeovil. The match, officiated by referee Paul Johnson, saw both sides create numerous opportunities, with each eventually finding the back of the net in a hard-fought battle.

The early stages of the game set the tone for a competitive encounter, with Yeovil Town’s Charlie Cooper being booked in the 3rd minute for a foul. This was shortly followed by another yellow card for Yeovil’s Brett McGavin in the 37th minute, again for a foul. Woking’s discipline was also tested, but they managed to avoid any bookings in the first half.

As the first half drew to a close, Aaron Jarvis gave Yeovil Town the lead just before the interval, scoring in the 47th minute. Jarvis’s goal, assisted by Charlie Cooper, sent Yeovil into the break with a 1-0 advantage.

The second half saw Woking push hard for an equaliser, and their efforts were rewarded in the 74th minute when substitute Aiden O’Brien scored, just seven minutes after coming onto the field. O’Brien’s goal levelled the match at 1-1, sparking a late surge from both teams in search of a winner.

Throughout the second half, both sides made tactical substitutions in an attempt to sway the game in their favour. Woking made a series of changes, introducing Ben Wynter, Aiden O’Brien, and Lewis Walker, while Yeovil brought on Michael Smith, Jacob Maddox, and finally Harvey Greenslade in the dying moments of the game.

Despite the late pressure, neither team could find the decisive goal, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Woking’s Harry Beautyman, Yeovil’s Finn Cousin-Dawson, and Josh Sims also received yellow cards in the second half for fouls, reflecting the intense and physical nature of the game.
