Yeovil Town 1-2 Barnet

League leaders Barnet extended their impressive run with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Yeovil Town at Huish Park, further solidifying their title credentials. The Bees stung Yeovil early, taking the lead in the 10th minute when Ryan Glover found the back of the net. This early goal silenced the home support and put Barnet firmly in the driving seat. Yeovil, though struggling, showed glimpses of promise, pressing forward in search of an equaliser, but a resolute Barnet defence held firm for the remainder of the first half.

The second half saw a revitalised Yeovil emerge, their increased intensity eventually paying dividends in the 73rd minute. James Plant levelled the score, injecting a renewed sense of urgency into the match and igniting the home crowd. Following the goal, both managers, Mark Cooper and Dean Brennan, made a series of substitutions, each seeking to gain the tactical advantage.

The decisive moment came in the 81st minute. A perfectly weighted pass from Anthony Hartigan found Danny Collinge, who calmly slotted home the winner, restoring Barnet’s lead. Yeovil, desperate for a point, threw men forward in a late surge, but their efforts were ultimately in vain. The closing minutes saw bookings for Charlie Cooper and Michael Smith as Yeovil’s frustration boiled over. Barnet, however, expertly managed the game, holding on to secure all three points.

The victory extends Barnet’s winning streak against Yeovil to three matches, highlighting their dominance in the recent head-to-head record. While Yeovil remain mid-table, Barnet continue to set the pace at the top of the National League.
