A ten-man Solihull Moors side ran riot against a similarly depleted Ebbsfleet United at the Kuflink Stadium, securing a resounding 6-0 victory in a National League encounter. Despite a closely contested opening period, the second half saw the Moors unleash a devastating attacking display that left the home side reeling.
The match took a dramatic turn within the first six minutes. Solihull Moors’ James Clarke and Ebbsfleet United manager Andy Whing were both dismissed for violent conduct, receiving a yellow card each before swiftly being shown a second yellow and the subsequent red. This left both sides with ten men and injected a chaotic energy into the proceedings. Despite the numerical balance, neither team could find a breakthrough before the half-time whistle.
However, the second half was a completely different story. Just three minutes after the restart, Solihull Moors took the lead through an own goal from Ebbsfleet defender Anthony Stewart. This unfortunate event opened the floodgates for the visitors. Michael Adu-Poku doubled the advantage shortly afterwards, capitalising on an assist from Conor Wilkinson. Wilkinson then proceeded to steal the show, scoring a hat-trick in a ruthless spell of attacking football. His first goal came courtesy of a Jamey Osborne assist, while Jack Stevens provided the pass for his second, both showcasing Solihull’s clinical finishing. Adu-Poku then returned the favour, assisting Wilkinson’s third to complete his hat-trick and deepen Ebbsfleet’s woes. In the closing stages, substitute James Gale set up Sam Bowen to add the final gloss to the scoreline, making it 6-0.
Ebbsfleet United, already facing an uphill battle, were completely overwhelmed after going down to ten men. Their substitutions, which saw Jez Davies, Craig Tanner, and Jack Wakely enter the fray, proved ineffective in stemming the tide. Solihull, despite also being a man down, expertly exploited the spaces on the pitch and demonstrated impressive attacking fluidity. The introduction of Gale further enhanced their threat going forward.
The victory sees Solihull Moors climb to ninth in the National League table, while Ebbsfleet United remain mired near the bottom. The result reinforces Solihull’s recent dominance over Ebbsfleet, adding to their victories in the two previous meetings between the sides.
