Yeovil Town secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Wealdstone at Grosvenor Vale, leaving the home side languishing near the bottom of the National League table. The Glovers dominated from the start, and despite an early flurry of yellow cards, their superior quality ultimately shone through.
Within the opening eleven minutes, referee’s cautioned Wealdstone’s Max Kretzschmar and Adrian Mariappa, as well as Yeovil’s Ollie Wright. Micah Obiero then joined them in the book for the hosts before the half-hour mark, suggesting a tense and physical battle was developing. However, it was Yeovil who broke the deadlock in the 26th minute. Brett McGavin finished clinically after being set up by Aaron Jarvis, giving the Glovers a deserved lead.
Yeovil’s advantage allowed them to control the remainder of the first half, and they carried that momentum into the second period. Just seven minutes after the restart, Jarvis turned from provider to scorer, heading home from a Dominic Bernard assist to double Yeovil’s lead.
Wealdstone manager Matty Taylor made a triple substitution on the hour mark in an attempt to change the course of the match, but the Glovers continued to press forward. Their dominance paid off again just eight minutes later when Ciaran McGuckin added a third, converting a Jake Wannell assist to put the game beyond Wealdstone’s reach.
Despite further substitutions from both sides, Yeovil comfortably saw out the match, showcasing their tactical prowess and clinical finishing. The victory sees them climb to 8th in the National League, while Wealdstone remain in 23rd place. Having drawn their previous two meetings in recent seasons, this result marks Yeovil’s first win against Wealdstone in their recent encounters.
