A 1-0 home win over Hornchurch began that winning sequence before Worthing produced an impressive 3-1 victory away at Hartlepool United. Adam Hinshelwood’s side then made it three in a row on Saturday with a 2-1 home victory over FC Halifax Town.
Joe Cook gave Worthing an early lead against Halifax before Will Hugill equalised for the visitors. Jordan Young, who had created Cook’s opener, restored Worthing’s advantage before half-time and the Rebels protected their lead after Halifax were reduced to ten men in the 77th minute.
Like Yeovil, Worthing have scored in every National League fixture this season. The Rebels have also found the net 19 times in ten matches, with their current five-match unbeaten sequence producing 11 points from a possible 15.
There is no recent competitive history between the clubs, with Worthing competing in the National League for the first time this season following promotion through the National League South play-offs. Tuesday’s fixture therefore provides a new challenge for two teams separated by little in either points or attacking output.
